Getting marketing handoffs right between corporate and locations
Most brand inconsistency is not defiance. It is an unclear boundary between what is centralized and what is local.
When local teams go off brand, the cause is almost always ambiguity about who owns what. Write the boundary down and most of the problem disappears.
Centralize the things that must stay identical: logo usage, color, typography, core messaging, and legal language. Localize the things that must feel real: photos, staff, offers, and events.
Give local teams locked templates so they can move quickly inside the boundary rather than improvising outside it.
Then review quarterly. Boundaries drift as the business changes, and a document nobody revisits stops being true.
